v2.10.0 · free & open source

Paste a link. Get the whole site.

Local Dev Studio opens any website in a real browser, saves it as clean files you can edit, and runs it on your machine. Your own projects run here too, from plain HTML to Next.js and Django.

Windows 10/11 · No Node, no command line, no setup

The Local Dev Studio window on its Extractor tab. The heading reads 'Paste a link. Get the whole site.' apple.com is typed into the capture field next to a white Capture site button, and the finished run log reads: Done, 1 page, 12 images, 36 fonts, 11 css, 39 seconds.
Real screenshot: apple.com, captured and unpacked in 39 seconds.

How it works

Whole websites,
in three moves

  1. 01

    Capture it

Paste any URL. A real browser renders the site, scripts and all, then saves every page, style, image, font and video. Cookie banners are stripped on the way through.

The capture bar: apple.com in the URL field, a white Capture site button, and the options line reading 'single page · desktop · scrolled first · videos restored · banners stripped · 6s wait'.
  2. 02

    Unpack it

The snapshot becomes tidy HTML, CSS and asset folders you can open in any editor. Styles get their own files, duplicates are merged, and videos are wired back in.

The run log after a capture, headed 'Done, 1 page, 12 images, 36 fonts, 11 css, 39 seconds', with the lines the app wrote while saving and unpacking the site.
  3. 03

    Host it

Live at localhost the moment it finishes, opened at the real homepage and reloading as you save. Edit, restyle, redeliver.

A notification from the app: 'Hosting on localhost:4311', with a note that the Local Dev Studio button on the page holds the asset dragger and audit mode, and an Open button.

The studio

Every site you manage,
in one place

Built for people who look after other people's websites: pull down the current site, work on it locally, and keep every client a click from running.

The library

Every capture and every project folder in one grid, with live thumbnails and page counts. File them into sections like Client Websites and Concepts, and filter in a keystroke.

Hosting, any stack

Click Host and get a localhost address that stays put across restarts. Plain folders, Next.js, Vite, Django or Laravel: the app starts the dev server for you and reloads as you save.

ShowCase Beta

Put any site on a projector or a second screen, or record it as an MP4. ShowCase reads the page and directs the tour: the navigation, the main button, each section, a flip to the phone.

Ctrl+K everything

Hosting, settings, zoom, any site in the library. The whole app is one keystroke away, with no menu bar to dig through.

The Studio tab: a library of eight sites filed into sections (Client Websites, Concepts, Personal & Business, Captures). The Concepts row shows Vesper Site, JetPack BriefCase Website and Powerwash Company as live thumbnails, each with its page count, size, date and a Host button. The same Studio while hosting: a HOSTING bar reads 'Vesper Site :4311' with a Stop all button, and the Vesper Site card carries a live localhost:4311 badge and its own Stop button. The ShowCase tab, marked Beta, headed 'Put a site on the big screen.' Below it, a grid of sites to present: apple.com, localdevstudio.com, Ngtshyft.com, Vesper Site and four more, above a Present button. The command palette open over the Studio: New capture, Capture options, Capture a list of URLs or a sitemap, Log in for capture, Go to Extractor, Go to Studio, Go to ShowCase and Refresh library, each with its shortcut.

Real screenshots, straight out of the app.

Real-browser capture

Drives actual Chromium, so JavaScript-heavy sites fully render before they're saved.

Whole-site crawl

Depth 1 to 5, a sitemap or a list of links, desktop or phone, signed in or not.

3D and WebGL sites

Keep the scripts and a second pass saves everything the page streams in, so three.js worlds run from the local copy.

Share a link

One switch gives a hosted site a public https address through a Cloudflare tunnel. No account, no router settings.

Palette swap

Scan a site's colors, pick a swatch, replace it across every css, html and svg file. Always undoable.

Nothing to install

The capture engine ships inside the app. No Node, no npm, no command line.

Review Mode

Point. Comment. Rate.
Your AI does the rest.

Walk the hosted site like a client would. Select any element, write what's wrong and what you want instead, and score it out of ten.

Local Dev Studio compiles the session into REVIEW.md, with selectors, computed styles, screenshots and even the source file and line. A coding agent can act on it without guessing.

  • Element, region or whole-page notes
  • Severity, ratings and taste calibration that grows with you
  • A built-in MCP server for Claude Code, Cursor or any agent, with a pixel check on every fix
.hero h1 should-fix

“Way too small on mobile. Want it bold, about 44px, with more room to breathe.”
